Right fielder Joc Pederson left the Los Angeles Dodgers' Monday game after hitting the outfield wall, but he later said that he escaped any serious injury. Pederson, who already had homered twice in the game at Dodger Stadium, struck the low right field wall while reaching into the seats to steal a fifth-inning homer from the Colorado Rockies' Charlie Blackmon. Detroit Tigers minor league catcher Chace Numata died Monday from head injuries sustained Friday in a skateboarding accident in Erie, Pa. He was 27. Numata was playing for Double-A Erie SeaWolves.
