Hoskins hit a two-run homer in the third and a solo shot in the eighth for Philadelphia, which came into Monday 2 1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs for the second wild card in the National League. Anthony Rizzo ended the Chicago Cubs' 22-inning scoreless drought with a one-out single in the seventh inning, while Kyle Schwarber added a bases-loaded triple, in a 5-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday afternoon in the opener of a two-game interleague series. Right-hander Kyle Hendricks combined with three relievers on a four-hitter, allowing the Cubs to end a two-game losing streak, while defeating the Mariners for a third consecutive time this season.
