Chicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito followed his first career All-Star appearance by losing to the Kansas City Royals for the first time in his career on Monday night. Marcus Semien homered, tripled and doubled and scored twice, and Ramon Laureano continued his hot hitting with two doubles to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night in Minneapolis. Rookie Oscar Mercado recorded his first career five-hit performance as the host Cleveland Indians posted a 10-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Friday to extend their winning streak to a season high-tying six games. Mercado, who had two RBIs and scored twice, collected a double and four singles to become the 12th Indians rookie since 1913 to record at least five hits in a game. Eddie Rosario hit a three-run, go-ahead pinch-hit home run in the seventh inning and Mitch Garver and C.J. Cron also homered as the Minnesota Twins rallied to snap a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Oakland A's on Thursday night in Minneapolis.
