Bill Belichick has won a Super Bowl against a St. Louis team as head coach of the New England Patriots, so it was only appropriate the Boston Bruins invited him to be the fan banner captain for Game 2 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. Belichick waved the banner alongside Special Olympics athlete James Coffey before the Bruins took on the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night, and the legendary coach's presence sent the TD Garden crowd into a frenzy. Nick Pivetta has no plans for a return trip to the minors. Cesar Hernandez hit a go-ahead two-run homer, Pivetta threw five tough innings and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the slumping St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 Tuesday night. Derek Dietrich had a career-high three home runs and drove in six to lead the Cincinnati Reds to an 11-6 win against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. Dietrich blasted two-run homers in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to help the Reds open a 10-0 lead in the third game of the four-game series.
