The Carolina Hurricanes scored twice on power plays and that was enough in a 5-2 victory against visiting Philadelphia, eliminating the Flyers from playoff contention Saturday afternoon at Raleigh, N.C. Teuvo Teravainen, Dougie Hamilton, Justin Faulk, Jaccob Slavin and Brock McGinn scored for Carolina, which strengthened its hold on one of the Eastern Conference's wild cards. The Hurricanes scored two goals in a 21-second span in the first period to wipe out a one-goal deficit and later added two empty-net goals.
