Austin Watson has been reinstated by the NHL/NHLPA Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program, a joint statement from both the league and the players' union said on Monday. Watson entered the program on Jan. 29 when the NHL announced that he would be suspended indefinitely until cleared for on-ice competition by the program's administrators. Last September, Watson was suspended 27 games for unacceptable off-ice conduct after he pleaded no contest to domestic assault charges stemming from an incident at a gas station in Franklin, Tenn. SAN JOSE -- After an emotional couple of weeks, Evander Kane is excited to get back in the lineup as the Sharks prepare to host the Nashville Predators on Saturday night. The winger hasn't played since Feb. 26 when the Sharks fell 4-1 to the Bruins in Boston, as Kane was sidelined with what the team classified as a mid-body injury. Alex Stalock and the Minnesota Wild were close to gutting out a sixth consecutive win on Sunday, but the Nashville Predators ended up slipping by them 3-2 in the shootout. From the second period on, Nashville generated a 35-17 shots on goal advantage, yet they found themselves down 2-1 in the final frame.
