Alex DeBrincat had the best game of his career, and the Chicago Blackhawks needed all of his production. DeBrincat had three goals and two assists, and the Blackhawks held on to beat the Ottawa Senators 8-7 on Monday night for their ninth win in 11 games. Mike Smith hasn't started three consecutive games for the Calgary Flames since the opening month of the season. His inconsistent play in net for much of the season, combined with the strong run David Rittich provided from mid-December through the end of January, left Smith more often than not riding the bench as the backup.
