San Antonio Spurs
The news about Kawhi Leonard was bad, though at least there's some consolation for the San Antonio Spurs. The way LaMarcus Aldridge is playing, they might be able to hang on until their other star forward gets back. Aldridge scored 34 points and the Spurs responded to the latest absence of Leonard by beating the Brooklyn Nets 100-95 on Wednesday night. Continue to Article

San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs will hold All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely due to lingering pain from a quadriceps injury that caused him to miss the first 27 games of the season. "He didn't re-injure it or anything. But you know he was having pain, not right after games but maybe the next day," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Wednesday. "... The pain wasn't dissipating, it wasn't going in the right direction, it was going the other way." San Antonio Spurs
Just like they did at the start of training camp, the San Antonio Spurs announced Wednesday that they plan to keep All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely as he continues to recover from right quadriceps teninopathy. "Kawhi has made significant progress and continues to move forward in his rehabilitation," Spurs general manager RC Buford said. The Spurs initially announced during training camp that Leonard would miss the preseason due to the quadriceps issue, but the recovery process lingered into December, with coach Gregg Popovich admitting in November that the forward was "coming along more slowly" in rehabilitation than the way the club had hoped. Leonard missed San Antonio's first 27 games this season because of the condition, which causes pain and weakness in the knee. Continue to Article
