Vancouver Canucks
There were so many mistakes to be found in the Flyers' 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks Tuesday night that head coach Dave Hakstol surprisingly admitted even he could have done things differently by pulling Michal Neuvirth after the goalie gave up a third goal in the opening minutes of the second period. Starting for the first time in 17 days, Neuvirth was pulled with 5:20 remaining in the second period after making 18 of 22 stops. "Obviously, I need to be better than I showed today," Neuvirth said. Chance the Rapper, AKA New York Rangers MSG beat reporter Lazlo Holmes, coined a phrase Saturday that strapped dynamite to hockey Twitter and blew it straight into oblivion. Although Henrik Lundqvist didn't face a lot of shots, he came up big when he needed to. Lundqvist stopped 20 shots for his second shutout of the season and 63rd of his career, leading the New York Rangers over the Ottawa Senators 3-0 on Sunday night. Kevin Hayes, Michael Grabner and Mika Zibanejad scored, and Mats Zuccarello had two assists to help the Rangers win the teams' first meeting since the Senators eliminated New York in six games in the Eastern Conference semifinals last May. Sergei Bobrovsky made his typical batch of highlight-reel saves to help the Columbus Jackets shut out the potent New York Rangers. Bobrovsky made 36 saves for his 21st career shutout and Zach Werenski and Artemi Panarin scored in the Blue Jackets' 2-0 victory over New York on Friday night. New York ran into a hot goalie in Bobrovsky, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner who notched his second shutout of the season in powering Columbus to its third straight victory. Continue to Article

The goals came in bunches for the Blackhawks in their Oct. 5 season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins. For the Blackhawks, it was a nice memory, albeit one that seems far away given they went from scoring at will through their first two games to not being able to buy a goal for a sizeable stretch. As for the Penguins, well, you figure their memoires of that game means they'll be more than a little ticked off when the Blackhawks arrive on Saturday night. Continue to Article
