Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler has been ruled out of Sunday's game at New England because of a concussion, and backup Matt Moore will make his second start of the season. Cutler practiced Friday, but remains in the concussion protocol. He threw three interceptions in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay before he left at halftime because of his injury. Moore threw for 282 yards and a score in the second half. He started for an injured Cutler three weeks ago at Baltimore and Miami lost 40-0. Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry said this offseason that he expected his team to beat the Patriots twice this season and he isn’t backing off of that with the first meeting between the teams on tap of Sunday. Landry said he wasn’t surprised that his comments grabbed so much notice or that there were questions about them on Thursday while making it clear he feels the same way he did in April. “Honestly, it’s a pride thing and also, it’s something for us, a mindset,” Landry said, via the Miami Herald. The Patriots hit Thanksgiving with an 8-2 record, a stranglehold on first place in the AFC East, and a rest-of-the-season schedule -- save for the much-anticipated meeting with the Steelers on Dec. 17 -- almost bereft of quality opponents. Whoever came up with the stuff Tom Brady's resistance bands are made out of -- it's actually "surgical-grade dipped latex tubing sheathed in ballistic nylon," according to the TB12 website -- probably deserves a tip of the cap from the entire region. The Patriots were without a couple of their biggest stars during the portion of Wednesday’s practice open to the media. Neither quarterback Tom Brady nor tight end Rob Gronkowski was spotted on the field while reporters were allowed to take in practice on a rainy day in New England. Patriots coach Bill Belichick said this week that going to Mexico City to face the Raiders last Sunday took “a lot of energy out of our organization” and said the team was “exhausted,” so it may have just been a case of giving some extra rest to important players.
