Baltimore Orioles
When we think of significant Oriole contracts set to expire after the 2018 season, the two that immediately come to mind belong to Manny Machado and Zach Britton. However, two others set to end after next year are likely even more essential to the future of the team – those belonging to Dan Duquette and Buck Showalter. Both joined the organization in 2011, signing extensions after the 2012 season and the team’s first playoff appearance since 1997. The Orioles’ brain trust was set for the next six seasons and was expected to provide the personnel and management to lead to even greater things. After all, with a talented core of players like Machado, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, Chris Tillman and Continue to Article

What a Debbie Downer it is this week! MLB.com (16th; LW: 19th) Alyson Footer at MLB.com lifts the Orioles to 16th, three spots higher than last week. Bleacher Report Power Rankings (17th; LW: 19th) Joel Reuter lifts the Orioles up two slots. CBS Sports (16th; LW: 21st) Matt Synder lifts the O’sfive slots this week for a total of nine slots in two weeks. “Four straight wins while Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman are not looking bad at all. Things are looking up. The trade deadline moves were still tough to understand, Continue to Article

Baltimore Orioles
Hello, friends. Another day has dawned with the Orioles in fourth place in the American League East. They are 5.5 games back of the division-leading Red Sox. However, things have gotten a lot more interesting in the wild card race. They're just 2.5 games back of the second wild card Royals after pulling off the sweep, with just three teams to pass. If you missed Wednesday's win, check out Tyler Young's recap of the game and make sure to vote in the Most Birdland Player poll. The Orioles also gained a game on the Mariners, who were losers on Wednesday. They're going to have to keep winning for this recent winning to actually matter. The Tigers are coming to town for a four-game series starting Continue to Article
