By providing his team the day off on Tuesday, a decision that came two days after their previous game, Houston Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni appeared to begin the process of preserving bodies in preparation for the playoffs. Gonzaga was Erik Spoelstra's rival in college. The Miami Heat coach, who played college ball for Portland, a longtime West Coast Conference member alongside Gonzaga, had the Zags (37-1) winning on his bracket at the start of the NCAA Tournament and is sticking with them as they go into Monday night's national championship game in Glendale, Arizona against North Carolina (32-7).
