From the outset of 2016-17, or even before, it was obvious that Dirk Nowitzki did not plan to make this season the final of his illustrious career. The future Basketball Hall of Famer was drafted in 1998 and counts this campaign as his 19th, but the 38 year-old signed a two-year deal for a reason last July, and he’d like one more chance to do it all right in 2017-18. Anderson and Anthony received technicals in the third quarter when they got face to face and exchanged words. Continue to Article

Dallas Mavericks icon Dirk Nowitzki plans to extend his remarkable NBA career into a 20th season at the age of 39. Nowitzki, who signed a two-year contract last year, told ESPN's TrueHoop Conversations podcast he planned to honor the deal and play until just shy of his 40th birthday, despite an injury-disrupted 2016-2017 campaign. The towering German star, the 2007 NBA Most Valuable Player and 2011 NBA Finals MVP, is under contract to earn $25 million by playing next season. Continue to Article
