Gonzaga is No. 1 for a second straight week in The Associated Press college basketball poll following a week in which all but four of the top 10 teams lost at least one game. The Bulldogs (24-0), the only remaining unbeaten team in Division I, received 59 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel on Monday. Creighton and Xavier both still have visions of winning the Big East Conference regular season title and securing the top seed for the conference tournament at Madison Square Garden. Once the Bluejays (20-3, 7-3 Big East) and Musketeers (16-6, 6-3) finish their pivotal 2 p.m. CST showdown Saturday at CenturyLink Center, only one team will remain within a game of first place Villanova. Xavier point guard Edmond Sumner has a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season. The sophomore guard had 17 points and seven assists during the Musketeers' 82-77 victory over St. John's at Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening. The injury is a significant blow to the Musketeers (15-6, 5-3 Big East) , who have lost four of their last six games - all against ranked teams, with three of the losses on the road.
