Chicago Blackhawks
The NHL's hard salary cap has forced plenty of turnover on the Chicago Blackhawks' roster since they won the 2009-10 Stanley Cup, and this past offseason was no different. Artem Anisimov and rookie Artemi Panarin haven't had any trouble fitting into the winning culture. The Western Conference-leading Blackhawks begin a four-game homestand against the San Jose Sharks looking to win an eighth straight at the United Center on Tuesday night. Continue to Article

Chicago Blackhawks
It's been just over a month since the last Winter Classic... SO WHY DON'T WE KNOW WHERE THE NEXT ONE IS GOING TO BE YET?! Speculation is rampant. The Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins are out of the running with the report earlier this week of their Stadium Series game . Others thought the game would be in Toronto; to coincide with the organization and the NHL's centennial celebration. If the report by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is correct, the St. Louis Blues will host the day after New Year's Day event at Busch Stadium. Who will they play? The Florida Panthers. Okay, not really. It's the Chicago Blackhawks, of course. A year cannot go by without the Blackhawks appearing in an outdoor game. It's in the small print of the CBA. The ink isn't completely dry on the deal yet but it sounds like the residents of Busch, the St. Louis Cardinals, are preparing for a hockey game. From the Post-Dispatch : "The plan is not yet complete, but the league is strongly considering the city to host the "Winter Classic," in which the Blues' opponent could be the Chicago Blackhawks. There is also the option of the team playing in a "Stadium Series" game, but according to sources, the Cardinals are expecting to host a hockey game at Busch on Jan. 2, which is a potential date for next year's Winter Classic." The league is expected to move the date of the event to Monday, January 2 to avoid conflicting with the final day of the NFL's regular season on Sunday, January 1.  We know the TV rating in the US would be obliterated by the NFL if they went head to head. This most likely ensures a night time game in St. Louis. People will return to work after the holidays on Monday and won't be home to watch during the day. While Chicago may be less than enthused to play in another outdoor game, this is exciting for St. Louis Blues fans. They're one of the few major hockey markets to not appear in a stadium game.  - - - - - - - Jen Neale is an editor for Puck Daddy on Yahoo Sports. Have a tip? San Jose Sharks
Legendary Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr has shown no signs of slowing down since playing two 20-minute periods of 3-on-3 hockey at the NHL’s All-Star Game.  On Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings, Jagr picked up an assist to give him 1,100 in his long and illustrious NHL career. Jagr, who turns 44 later this month is one of six players in NHL history with at least 1,100 helpers. The play came on a goal by forward Brandon Pirri. Jagr ranks behind Wayne Gretzky (1,963), Ron Francis (1,249), Mark Messier (1,193), Ray Bourque (1,169), and Paul Coffey (1,135). The next closest active player is San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton, who has 933 helpers. Jagr picked up another assist on a Vincent Trochek goal. With the two assists, Jagr trails Detroit Red Wings forward Gordie Howe by 12 points for third on the league’s all-time scoring list. Jagr has 1,838 to Howe’s 1,850. The next highest active player is also Thornton, who had 1,300 heading into Thursday's action. The Panthers currently lead the Atlantic Division with 65 points, five more than the second-place Tampa Bay Lightning.  MORE FROM YAHOO HOCKEY - - - - - - - Josh Cooper is an editor for Puck Daddy on Yahoo Sports. Chicago Blackhawks
Returning from his one-game suspension, Toews tries to help the visiting Blackhawks continue their success against the struggling Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night. Chicago (34-16-4) suffered three road defeats in the final four games before the break before returning with a 2-1 victory at Colorado on Tuesday. Richard Panik and Artemi Panarin had first-period goals as the Western Conference leaders outshot the Avalanche 42-23 to prevail while Toews was suspended by the NHL for pulling out of the All-Star festivities because of an illness.
