Last year, Playmobil made 16 NHL figures, and they were all very cute.  Now they’ve finally expanded the line to include a 12 more teams, including five in Canada, which sometimes gets the shaft when it comes to toy lines. (Luckily, Playmobil has a deal in the U.S. and Canada, the first time in the company’s history that it has licensed line in both countries.) Click here to take a look at the figures: The new teams, with one player and one goalie for each: Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets. From the good folks at Playmobil: As part of the expanded line, playsets inspired by 12 more NHL teams, including both player and goalie figures will hit stores this spring. Additional sets featuring NHL rivalry packs, Stanley Cup Presentation, Score Clock with Referees and an NHL holiday Advent Calendar will be available this fall. The initial line of NHL-inspired playsets included figures from the Original Six franchise teams, a fully-functional NHL Hockey Arena, a Zamboni ice resurfacing machine, NHL referees and the coveted Stanley Cup Trophy. “Due to popular demand from consumers and retailers alike, we are thrilled to expand our offerings of NHL toys,” said Mark Cohen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for PLAYMOBIL USA. “Young fans were clamoring to play with their favorite NHL teams and now with the introduction of additional franchises and iconic NHL moments, they can continue to express their fandom and create their own authentic NHL-inspired experiences with PLAYMOBIL.” Yes, finally young fans will be able to recreate video reviews and clock adjustments!  -- Greg Wyshynski  is a writer for Yahoo Sports. Mobbed at center ice after his first NHL win, Jean-Francois Berube was understandably all smiles after the game. Thanks to Brock Nelson's team-leading 20th goal that broke a tie late in the second period and Berube's 40 saves, the New York Islanders beat the Minnesota Wild 5-3 Tuesday night. ''It's always better when you get a couple of shots quick,'' Berube said. Continue to Article

Mired in a miserable two-month stretch, the Montreal Canadiens remain positive despite feeling a sense of urgency to save their fading season. Expecting to have ailing captain Max Pacioretty in the lineup, the visiting Canadiens look to begin a post-All-Star break turnaround Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers. Montreal (24-22-1) has gone from the top spot in the Eastern Conference to three points out of the final wild-card berth thanks to a 5-18-1 slide. Continue to Article

(Reuters) - Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin said he will miss this weekend’s All Star Game because of a nagging lower-body injury. Ovechkin played in his team’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, but said he wouldn't be making the trip to Nashville. "This was a hard decision but we talk about it, coaching staff, trainers, and we tried to battle through it, but it's stayed the same," Ovechkin told reporters of his injury. Continue to Article
